Technologies for the Detection, Diagnosis and Treatment of Cancer

Research in this laboratory is devoted to the development of nano and other delivery technologies for the detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Individual research projects include:

  • Synthesis of new polymer materials for nanotechnology-based drug delivery.
  • Pursuit of computational approaches to matching material-drug pairs and predicting solution behaviour of amphiphilic copolymer molecules.
  • Development and evaluation of delivery systems for intraperitoneal administration of taxanes in the treatment of ovarian cancer.
  • Image-based assessment of the in vivo pathway and fate of nanotechnologies at the whole body, tissue and cellular levels.
  • Development of nanotechnologies for detection and diagnosis of lung and breast cancer.
  • Multifunctional nanotechnology for targeted auger electron radiotherapy of breast cancer.
